Privacy policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
This policy explains what happens to your data when you use londontouristmap.com. The short version: we do not ask for an account, we do not set advertising cookies on our own pages, and your saved places and trip plans stay in your own browser.
Who we are
London Tourist Map (londontouristmap.com) is an independent website run by Mike Hansky. For anything about this policy or your data, email [email protected].
What we collect
- Visit statistics. We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track you across sites. We see totals such as pages viewed, referring sites and countries, not individual people.
- Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes the technical data every website receives (IP address, browser type, the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Your trip and saved places. Places you save with ♥ and the plans you make in My trip are stored in your browser (local storage) on your own device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data or pressing Clear trip removes them. A plan only leaves your device if you copy its share link and send it to someone.
- "Report a mistake" notes. If you report a mistake on a place, we store your note, the place and page it is about, the time and the country your request came from. We do not ask for or keep your name or email. We keep these notes only as long as we need them to check and fix the page.
- Emails you send us. If you email us, we keep the message and your address to reply, and for as long as the conversation needs.
We do not sell your data and we do not run advertising networks on our pages.
Cookies
Our own pages set no cookies. Some pages include services from other companies that may set their own:
- Hotel maps (Stay22). Hotel pages show a live-price hotel map from Stay22 inside the page. Stay22 sets its own cookies and loads its own tools (such as Hotjar, Google Tag Manager and Sentry) under Stay22's privacy policy.
- Partner sites. When you click a ticket, tour or hotel link, you leave our site, and the partner's own privacy policy and cookies apply there.
Third parties we use
- Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery, security and cookie-free visit statistics (privacy policy).
- Affiliate partners: GetYourGuide, Viator, Stay22 and Booking.com. Links to them carry our partner ID, so they can pay us a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. They see that you came from us; we do not see who you are or what you bought.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare): the tool that makes your trip PDF is loaded from cdnjs only when you press Download PDF. The PDF is made in your browser.
- Google Maps: "Directions" and "Google Maps" links open Google Maps when you click them, under Google's privacy policy.
- Directory badges: our About page shows "featured on" badge images loaded from those directories' servers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the UK and EU GDPR), you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it. Because we keep so little, in most cases the only personal data we have is an email you sent us. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The site is a travel guide for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
